3. My Sweetest Pain
by Kara L Andrews

I dreamed that you rescued me

I was an angel flying over the sea

With broken wings I traveled alone

Lost in the city streets of stone

You picked me up and carried me

You set me down so safely

I called you from the East you came

I knew your soul but not your name

Through all the darkness you were there

Leave your side I wouldn't dare

But when you asked me to fly

I'd rather have killed myself than try

So I open my sleepy eyes

And I remember all your white lies

How you left me when I needed you

There's something that you forgot to do

Because I don't understand exactly

Why you're no longer here with me
