ISSUE 11
Now we’re green, heralding spring with its freshness and new growth, the soft rain flushing away winter’s greyness and unwanted thoughts.
Thanks as always to the members of the editorial collective who read and choose the submissions and fashion the final product, polishing and doing justice to the quality of the content.
New ideas are flooding in with spring, you'll
find some of them here in issue #11:
Poetry: Six
poets express life's joys and despair with lyrical deftness.
Fiction: Childhood memories are evoked in a universal story.
Literary
non- fiction: A unique tale of one woman's
struggle with her body.
Reviews: Some
good reading, don't forget to share your favourites with
us. Make your debut as a book-reviewer, it's easy to follow
the guidelines that
we've included at the end of this section. Fiction or non-fiction,
anything you've enjoyed.
Links: A
contest for writers, a great BC resource and a reminder about
the special site for parents. If you notice something interesting,
useful or funny, share it with us at zine@sheenasplace.org
Gallery: Flushed
has a small group of readers in the Czech Republic. One sent
us the piece A Work in Progress for a previous
issue. This time, we're featuring some beautiful photos
of Prague sent by a Canadian living there. And, the talented author
of Fighting for Physical Fitness has contributed a painting to
illustrate her writing.
If you're a first time reader of Flushed, check the archives for
our first 10 issues, lots of good stuff there too.
Have a safe, satisfying and sunny summer: we'll be back
in the Fall.
