Fall 2005
Japanese poet Misuzu Kantaro wrote:
A bird,
a bell,

all different, all good
All different, all good. Even in translation the words have
a resonance as well as a relevance to a new ad campaign from
Nike, the latest company to use models valuing function rather
than form. Let us know what you think of it, you’ll find
their website address in Talk
to Us.
Here’s what else you’ll find in issue # 9:
Links: Always new and interesting. Keep us
up to date with what you find as you browse. We check all links
before we put them up, by the way.
Fiction: We
were delighted to have a play submitted for this issue, so we
broadened the department previously called Prose so
we could present a range of literary forms.
Gallery: While photographing one of the pieces
we noticed that it had a completely different look and feel depending
on whether we had taken the photo outside or in. Finding it difficult
to choose between them, we decided (with the artist’s permission)
to print both...a bit in the style of Monet
Reviews:
Alice Walker said, "If a book
doesn’t make us better, what on earth is it for?" There’s
a bumper crop of books (and a magazine) reviewed in this issue,
and we hope we’re all the better for it.
Literary non- fiction: An Australian in Prague
is a work in progress
Our Poetry section is delicious as usual.
